Meet Peterman Cares Recipients Thomas & Dottie.
At Peterman Brothers, we value the safety and comfort of those in our community. We believe every family deserves functioning heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical, and warm water. However, we recognize that hardships arise, and not every home in our community meets these standards. We’ve decided to take a stand and give back by launching our new Peterman Cares program.
At the end of each month, we give away and install (or service) one system to a member of our community demonstrating hardship. The Peterman Cares recipient can receive a furnace, air conditioner, water heater, electrical, plumbing, or sewer installation, depending on their needs. We hope to improve the comfort and safety of families in our community by providing these essential home services.
Our most recent Peterman Cares recipient, Dottie, has been a valued member of our Peterman Protection Clubs since 2020. While originally from Illinois, she resides in Fishers, where she recently celebrated her remarkable 91st birthday. Dottie was nominated to Peterman Cares by her son. She is a mother to five children and a loving grandmother to many.
Unfortunately, last year, Dottie faced the devastating loss of her husband, whom she had cherished for countless years. In remembrance, she wears a fish-shaped necklace marked with his thumbprint to keep him close to her heart. Dottie has also encountered significant struggles with her furnace in the last year. Her son, and nominator, feared that her furnace would not make it through another winter. On June 21st, Peterman had the privilege of presenting Dottie with a brand-new furnace, which our team expertly installed. See the install and hear her whole story here.
Thomas from Lafayette was nominated by his neighbors, who had previously called on Peterman Brothers for their own air conditioning and furnace installation. After recently receiving a liver transplant, getting a new air conditioning unit was not Thomas’s top priority. Various other health conditions have caused both physical and financial hardships. When Thomas received the initial voicemail about his selection, he couldn’t believe it. It took another phone call to convince him that it was real. This May, we had the opportunity to install a new air conditioning unit in Thomas’s home, allowing him and his family to be comfortable this summer. See his install and whole story here.
