Clean Air Inside and Out is Our Goal!

There is a lot of talk about when it comes to the environment and global warming. A lot of people know about Arbor Day, which is May 26. But there’s another holiday in the month of May that’s called  National Love a Tree Day.

This day is celebrated on May 16th, just a few days after Mother’s Day. This celebrates the wonderful things in nature that help with keeping our air nice and clean. We’re going to talk about how clean air helps you, how you can ensure clean air inside, and how you can celebrate the day on your own.

Clean Air Enhances Productivity

Clean air will offer a ton of different benefits to your health, which is why many people spend time outdoors relaxing.

Whether you realize it or not, trees are natural air filtration systems for the outdoors. They pull in pollutants, process them, and pump out clean air that doesn’t harm your lungs.

For some people that can mean fewer allergies and respiratory issues, while for others, it could lead to a boost in productivity. If that’s not a benefit, we don’t know what else could be!

Make Sure the Air Ducts of Your Home’s HVAC System are Clean

While trees and plant life are the filtration systems outdoors, indoors, you depend on your HVAC system to keep your home cool and your air clean.

One of the simplest ways to achieve that goal is by keeping your air filters clean. Your air filter is the first line of defense for your home’s cooling system. In addition, your ductwork could also be the source of air pollution in your home.

Keeping these systems free and clean of impurities like dust and outdoor is the best way to enjoy a happy and healthy home. In addition, if you want to up the purification in your home, consider bringing some of those outdoors trees indoors, for the best of both worlds.

Celebrate by Love a Tree Day

National Love a Tree Day is a great time that you can use to teach children about how good it is to recycle glass, paper, and plastic to help the environment and trees.

Make some bins for each recycling category and allow your children to decorate them using some images of the things that are going to go into each of them.

These bins are going to help to serve as reminders of what bin is for what type of item. This is important, especially since for younger children it can be hard for them to remember in the beginning. Make a chart and set goals for each of the bins and see the amount you’re able to recycle each week.

Maybe promise a treat when the goals are reached. At Peterman Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, Inc., we are always concerned about the environment and the needs of our customers. If you have questions about any of our services, please contact us at 317-751-0228.
